Villa Rapelli

Villa Rapelli is located at the highest point of the morainic cord, just where the urban agglomeration of Pianezza was built.
In the early twentieth century, the villa was occupied by a group of nuns of Visitation and their students.
In 1926, the geometra Orazio Rapelli owned it, Podestà for many year and then the Mayor of Pianezza restructured it, according to the laws of the late Liberty style, with the elevation of a part as a tower. Precious are the stucco of the vaults and the decorations of the lunettes above the doors.
Cavaliere Orazio Rapelli, with munificence of other times, wanted to give his villa in favor of "good and generous Pianezza’s inhabitants" (from holographic testament), with the clause that it had to be headed to his mother Teresa Fiore Rapelli.
It was therefore destined for a municipal library and adapted for it.
After the necessary renovation and restoration work, the villa, with new facilities, has become the exclusive headquarters of the Teresa Fiore Rapelli Civic Library, inaugurated on December 15, 2001.
